Ruth joined July-August in 2010 after a diverse career in Israel and the U.S.
Trained as broadcast journalist, producer and assignment editor for Channel 2, Israel’s leading news provider and writer-producer of “5½”, a highly successful, daily live current event magazine for children.

After graduating from George Washington University, Ruth worked as developer and head of research for several independent U.S based production houses and later on developed documentary series at Al Jazeera English Programming Department in Washington DC. Returning from the U.S., she founded in 2007 the immensely successful Israeli instance of “The 48 Hour Film Project”. Ruth serves as lector and judge in different industry and educational events and festivals and is very involved in media literacy in high schools.

Ruth holds a BA in Philosophy and Communication from the Hebrew University, and an MA in Education. She has diploma in Documentary film-making from GWU and is a graduate of Asaf Zipor’s screenwriting workshop.
